Riverfest: Strathfield Council Wetlands Guided Walk
Event description
Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2025, for a guided wetland walk to learn about our beautiful wetlands.
In collaboration with Friends of Mason Park Wetland (FOMPW), experienced FOMPW guides will educate you about the wetland’s history, bird species, how the wetland habitat supports them and much more.
This Council event is in partnership with the Parramatta River Catchment Group's annual community event, Riverfest. To learn more about other Riverfest events that celebrate the Parramatta River and the surrounding creeks and environment, click here.
Date: Saturday, 20 September 2025
Time; 8am - 9am
Where: Mason Park Wetlands, Homebush.
Meeting point: At the far end of Mason Park Carpark, which runs off Underwood Road. Participants will be given a flyer to place on their vehicle dashboards to avoid parking fines.
Please remember:
A hat, sunscreen, water bottle, weather appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes.
Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Children over the age of 5 will need to register for a ticket.
If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your ticket to allow for others to attend.
Please use public transport, carpool or walk/cycle to the event where possible.
Treat all staff and the community with respect.
In case of rain, the event will be cancelled, but a brief shower or light drizzle won’t stop us.
