Does that sound like you? If so, you’re in luck.

Hip-hop/spoken word band Rivermouth are entering the strange, uncharted world of weeknight gigs, with a Thursday night show at The Cave Inn,Woolloongabba on 10 August.

For those who haven’t heard us before, Rivermouth is a 4-piece act combining elements of hip-hop, folk, funk, jazz and spoken word. Our vocalist is a cross between a typewriter and a megaphone. Our keyboardist is a classically trained virtuoso mad scientist. Our bassist plays in the Richter scale. And our drummer's great-grandfather was a metronome.

Jonno will kick off the night with some a capella spoken word from around 7:15pm, followed by a set from folk/punk musician, activist and storyteller Andy Paine, before Rivermouth takes the stage from 8:30pm.

This is a pay-what-you-can-afford gig. We suggest $10 for renters/unwaged people and $15-$20 for real estate owners. If you’re completely broke and we haven’t sold out beforehand, we can let you in for free on the night. Tickets are refundable via the Humanitix website up to 24 hours beforehand, but if you buy a ticket and then can’t come, you can also just give your name to someone else to use on the door.

This event is happening on the unceded lands of the Jagera and Turrbal peoples. First Nations sovereignty was never ceded, and we acknowledge and pay respect to the elders and custodians of this place.
