New Town Rivulet Community Celebration

Explore the New Town Rivulet estuary like you’ve never seen it before at this special community celebration day.

Discover new tracks. Wonder at restored wetland habitat. Marvel at returning birdlife.

This community celebration day will include:

• Free face painting and ice-cream for the kids

• Coffee van with nibbles.

• Community info stalls.

Join us and take home one of 200 native plants and chat to our waterways team about why this project is so important to rewilding this special place.

We will be at the mouth of the rivulet at the park looking out into New Town Bay.

Rewilding the rivulet

This event has been organised to celebrate completion of the New Town Rivulet Estuary Restoration Project.

A collaboration between the City of Hobart and Glenorchy City Council the project includes new walking tracks and the planting of almost 30 000 native trees, shrubs, water plants and grasses.
