Introduction:

NeuronCare is a professional development and training program that combines virtual and face-to-face training. It runs over 5 weeks from June 3rd 2026.

About the course:

The course uses a learner informed design that aims to build the neurological knowledge and skills of early career physiotherapists through interactive webinars, evidence-based frameworks, case studies, and practical training, to facilitate learning and support translation into clinical practice.

Course Offerings:

The course is a 14-hour training program spread over 5 weeks that includes:

• 4 weekly webinars presented over 6 hours

• 7 hours of practical training

• Delivered and facilitated by experienced senior physiotherapists working clinically in acute neuroscience settings

Location and Delivery:

NeuronCare is a mixture of online and face-to-face learning. A webinar-only package is available for participants who do not wish to participate in the face-to-face practical training session. Places are limited for the face-to-face practical training session and are restricted to qualified physiotherapists. Physiotherapy students and Allied health Assistants are welcome to register for the webinar series.

Cost:

• Early bird course fee (webinar & practical training) $500 SOLD OUT

• Full course fee (webinar & practical training) $600 SOLD OUT

• Webinar-only series $100

Schedule:

• The webinars run weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 3 - 4:30pm, commencing June 3rd 2026.

• Webinar topics include:

  • Acute Stroke

  • Acute Functional Neurological Disorder

  • Acute Traumatic Brain Injury and Neurosurgery, and

  • Neuromuscular Disorders (Respiratory)

• The face-to-face practical training session is scheduled to run on Friday July 3rd from 9am - 4pm

• Practical session topics include:

  • Assessment and Treatment of the Upper Limb

  • Early Functional Rehabilitation
