RMIT RedActs Presents: Twelve Angry Jurors
Event description
Synopsis
Twelve Angry Jurors is a play that contemplates the huge responsibility of 12 ordinary people as they consider the guilt or innocence of a young man accused of murder. Bringing their own histories, prejudices, and biases to the jury room, the jurors work through this unenviable decision as they struggle to reach a unanimous vote after one voice casts doubts after a deeper examination of the facts. Based on the 1954 teleplay ‘12 Angry Men’ by Reginald Rose and adapted for film in 1957, Twelve Angry Jurors explores how our actions (or inaction) have consequences, while powerfully exploring what it means to live in a democracy.
