Event description

Experienced Trafficworks and Road Solutions professionals introduce and explain the road safety audit process on behalf of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).
This course meets DTP’s training requirements and provides a certificate for registration as a DTP/VicRoads accredited Road Safety Auditor.

  • Safe system framework – Part 1
  • Design stage road safety audits
  • Traffic management road safety audits
  • Desktop road safety audit exercise
  • Safe system framework – Part 2

Day 2
Welcome/ Review

  • Vulnerable road users – pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists
  • Legal liability
  • Road safety audit briefing
  • Site inspection
  • Group presentations
  • Road safety audit accreditation
  • Workshop summary and close, presentation of certificates
  • This course includes the updated Austroads Guide to Road Safety Part 6: Road Safety Audit, guidance on Safe System Principles. Supported by explanations of the differences between Safe System Assessments and Road Safety Audits.

    Paul Milhailidis BE (Civil) Grad Cert Management
    Paul is a director of Trafficworks, a specialist traffic engineering and design consultant, based in Melbourne.

    Daniel Mustata BE (Civil) (Hons)
    Daniel is the Principal Road Safety Engineer at Road Solutions Pty Ltd, and a specialist consultant based in Melbourne.

    Phillip Jordon BE(Civil), MEngSc (Transportation)
    Phil is the Principal of Road Safety International, providing road safety audits and training for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and European Bank.

    This course is conducted in person.
