Road to Paran Tactile Presentation
Event description
Earlier this year, blind artist Tony Sarre and his collaborator Lincoln MacKinnon undertook an extraordinary journey across Peru to gather materials for an inclusive audio-visual and tactile exhibition. From trekking the Andes and immersing themselves deep in the Amazon jungle, to meeting artists, disability organisations, and communities in Cusco, Lima, and the remote Andean village of Parán (where 16% of the population are blind), they gathered stories, sounds, and images that speak to resilience, creativity, and cultural exchange.
Since returning, Tony and Lincoln have been developing these experiences into tactile 2.5D photographic prints, immersive soundscapes, and visual works. At this session, you’ll have the chance to touch, see and hear these works-in-progress, and to offer valuable feedback that will help shape the exhibition’s accessibility and inclusivity.
