A good life for each person with disability.

An opportunity for people with disability and their families to meet with CRU in Central West Qld for a workshop, small group sessions or an individual conversation. 

CRU is returning to visit Longreach and Barcaldine from Monday 18th March to Thursday 21st March, 2024 with a full day workshop and time to meet with individuals and small groups.

Tuesday 19 March - Longreach

Ann Greer will present a full day workshop, Responding Well to People with 'Challenging Behaviours' and its Messages.

Meet with Ann and Catherine

Ann Greer & CRU Senior Resource Facilitator, Catherine Laherty, will be in the Longreach and
Barcaldine regions from Monday 18th to Thursday 21st March. 

Would you like to meet up with us while we are in town? We are available for individual and small group conversations about good lives for people with disability. Sometimes it's good to get a fresh perspective!

• Talk to Ann after the workshop on the 19th about how you can apply the ideas you’ve heard about.
• Talk with Catherine about your goals, safeguarding and planning for the future, advocating for
  your rights, or about the NDIS and self-managing your funding.

Some ideas for topics you could talk to us about include: 

• Belonging & what makes life good for a person with disability 
• Understanding and responding to ‘challenging behaviour’ 
• Having a vision and making a plan the life you want (not just for the NDIS!) 
• A home of one’s own 
• Friendships & relationships 
• Safeguarding – keeping people safe without wrapping in cotton wool 
• Creative use of funding & self-managing 
• Using funded support well 
• Real and meaningful work
• Talk about something else that is important to you – let us know.

• *Venue change due to faulty air conditioning (was The Globe)

Who is Community Resource Unit Ltd (CRU)

For over 35 years, CRU has been working across Queensland to help people with disability take control of their lives and take their place in their community. We have been funded as a Disabled People and Families Organisation by the Department of Social Services for these activities.
