ROAR 2026

Rangely OHV Adventure Rally is a four-day event on the Wagon Wheel West OHV trail system, Wagon Wheel OHV Trails (wagonwheeltrails.org). The event includes a welcome mixer at the Rangely Automotive Museum Parking Lot where you can park your OHV to show it off, enjoy music, chat with old and new friends, and purchase ROAR merchandise. A fun ride at dusk to the backside of Kenney Reservoir complete with a campfire and friends, guided trail rides & locally catered dinners. Also, during the event, you can find many different things to do such as an OHV rodeo, a poker run that benefits the Rio Blanco County Search & Rescue, an ongoing OHV expo, and hundreds of miles of trails for open riding. Come ride the High Mountain Desert of Northwestern Colorado! New this year we are adding an OHV Shootout on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 called the Rock Park ROAR-Down! A fast-paced obstacle challenge where drivers put their skills to the test on a rock-park style course. Fastest time wins… if you can make it clean through the gates!

All roads in Rangely are legal for OHV use, aside from CO HWY 64 (MAIN ST) which can only be crossed, as long as the machine is properly equipped. Required equipment includes a headlight, taillight, brakes, and a muffler/spark arrestor. NO DRIVING DIRECTLY ON MAIN STREET - CROSSING ONLY. Additional info can be found here.

*All or part of this operation is conducted on public lands under a special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.*

Riders must obtain a permit for Colorado OHV Trails you can click the link below and obtain it online under land & trails costing $26.25 you may also purchase the registration sticker with CASH at Rangely True Value (105 W. Main Street).

Thursday, May 7th, 2026

11:00am - Vendor Setup - Early Education Center

1:00pm-5:00pm - Registration at EEC Building 402 W. Main Street Rangely, CO 81648.
1:00pm-5:00pm - Open riding

5:00pm - Welcome Mixer and Show N' Shine at Rangely Automotive Museum Parking Lot - 128 S Stanolind Ave Rangely, CO 81648. Show off your machine, enjoy drinks, music, conversation, food trucks and purchase ROAR merchandise. 

Friday, May 8th, 2026

7:30am-4:30pm - OHV Expo

7:30-8:30am - Registration, Check-In, Trail Sign-Up

8:30am-9:00am - Rider's Meeting

9:00am-4:30pm - Guided Rides

9:00am-4:30pm - Wild Horse Tour by Piceance Mustang group. Limited capacity.

6:00pm-8:00pm - Dinner at Automotive Museum Parking Lot (Street Tacos by Mi Linda Jalisco's), (Drinks by Smoking River Brewing & El Agave Margarita's)

8:00pm - First group departs for guided night ride to backside of Kenney Reservoir.

Saturday, May 9th, 2026

7:30am-4:30pm - OHV Expo

7:30am-8:45am - Registration, Check-In, Trail Sign-Up

8:45am-9:00am - Rider's Meeting

9:00am-4:00pm - Guided Rides

11:00am-3:00pm - Rock Park ROAR-Down (Open to Spectators in the Rock Park)

4:00pm-6:00pm - OHV Poker Run (Starts at EEC, ends at Columbine Park)

6:00pm - Dinner at Columbine Park (Pulled Pork Sliders by Gio's Family Dining), (Beer Garden by Rangely Elks Lodge)

6:30pm - OHV Rodeo Begins

Drawing for all raffle prizes will be during the OHV Rodeo. You must be present to win. 

9:00pm - Live Band, Cork Snow & The Hammer Down Band following the conclusion of OHV Rodeo.

Sunday, May 10th, 2026

9:00am-2:00pm - "Mom's Tune Up" Expo - EEC Building

All Day - Open Riding
