Join us at Godfrey Daniels for a spirited celebration of Scotland’s National Poet with an evening dedicated to the music, poetry, and traditions of Robbie Burns. Musicians from local Celtic favorites Piper’s Request and the Gillespie Family Players—featuring members of Blackwater and The Chivalrous Crickets—come together for an engaging journey through classic Scottish songs and tunes. The evening also features authentic Burns orations by actor and WDIY radio host Kate Scuffle, alongside Equity actor, director, and playwright Richard Sautter, bringing Burns’ words vividly to life.

New this year! Begin the celebration early with a Scotch Whisky Tasting led by Whisky Ambassador Janet Brennan, exploring the history linking whisky and Burns while sampling three scotches in a proper nosing glass. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Godfrey Daniels.

Set within the Intimate Atmosphere of Godfrey Daniels, this special night honors tradition, community, and storytelling in our Live Music Listening Room.

Spanning a career of over 3 decades researching and educating on wine, beer, spirits, and whisky, For her, Scotch is the “hearth ember, the passion that does not extinguish.”

ROBBIE BURNS SCOTCH WHISKY TASTING:

Whisky is not some brown spirit that pairs well with chocolate and cheese. It is utter fascination and respect for the Lore, History, Artisanship, Legacy and Man's folly (and partnership) with Nature.

In his time Robbie Burns was so much more than his proclivities he was a historian, a preservationist, a voice for the Everyman. 

Did you know he was a whisky excise man?  Yes, out of necessity (12 children and growing)  but also to bring fairness and representation for the farmers/ whisky producers. 

Hear his (whisky) story and those of three other whisky families with this ceremonial presentation with complimentary whisky samples.
