ROCK BAND VIBES - GROUP 1

This is a YOUTH event. Attendees must be aged between 12 and 22.

Rock Band Vibes is a beginner-friendly crash course on playing in a real band. In each 2.5-hour workshop, participants rotate through guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys, then pick a role and get to work. 

We start right at the basics so everyone can get an easy win straight away, even if they have never played an instrument before. From there, participants can stretch as far as they like, picking parts that offer the right challenge. 

We build a simple, popular song section-by-section, focusing on timing, teamwork, and confidence, and finish with a performance run-through so everyone feels ready.

There’ll also be 1–2 youth mentors on hand throughout the session to help everyone settle in, learn the basics, and feel stage-ready. They will support with things like setting up gear, switching instruments, keeping the group on track during rehearsals, and giving calm encouragement before the Jam Night performance.

This workshop runs from 10am - 12.30 pm in the Marramarra Makerspace. Participants will then return for an evening Jam Night, where the workshop bands and other young performers can jump on stage, share what they have learned, and be part of a supportive live music experience.

Jam Night preparation as follows:

5pm - rehearsal in the Library

6pm - Jam Night in the Library

Please ONLY book in for ONE group session and for Jam Night.

Terms and Conditions

1. This event is exclusive for youth aged 12 - 22.

2. All young people 16 and under must be signed in and signed out by a parent/carer/responsible adult. This person must be available as an Emergency Contact throughout the event.

3. At check out, please disclose any allergies or conditions staff would need to be aware of in order to provide you with your best experience.

4. If you are unwell, please do not attend. Please phone the Library and cancel your booking prior to the event.

Parent's / Carer's agreement for YOUTH age 12-16:

I grant permission for my child to participate in the school holiday activities being held at Parkes Shire Library.

I understand that as the signatory, I am nominating myself to be the primary adult responsible for this child and therefore agree to remain contactable in case of emergency.

I understand that by providing my phone number on this registration form, that this will be the number used in case of emergency.

Please indicate if you give permission for your child/children to be photographed/recorded and for the library to use this photograph for media purposes, including digital social media.
