Activity - Rock Climbing @ Onkaparinga

Date - Saturday 23rd November (Close Bookings Friday 15th Nov).

Meeting Time – 9.00am – 3.00pm

Section – Scouts, Venturers and Rovers.

Cost - $32

Numbers - 24 Spaces Available.

Leader in Charge – Pete Willis

OAS Outcomes – Stages 1 – 3 Vertical.

  • 19m abseil
  • Multiple natural surface climbs
  • Have Vertical Knots assessed
  • OAS i-statements verified - if you do not use Terrain please bring along your OAS Record Book
  • A Terrain Milestone Outdoor Participate
  • A Terrain Logbook Entry

Venue – Gate 15, Onkaparinga River National Park, Chapel Hill Road, Onkaparinga Hills SA 5163.

Venue Information – Please arrive at 9am and wait at the main carpark. Onkaparinga Climbing Area is suitable for non-climbers / spectators and we welcome any Leaders who wish to watch.

Forms required – Operoo Once Bookings Closed

Further Information –

  • Please bring a small daypack to carry all your personal equipment, food, water and any medications.
  • Wear suitable casual clothing for climbing, tight but not restrictive allowing a full range of movement, durable and quick drying. Layering up recommended and bring a Jumper too for when you are not climbing.
  • Wear suitable walking shoes to walk to climbing site and if you wish to bring an addition pair of enclosed tight fitting shoes for climbing (ie Volleys are great or sneakers). Closed-toe shoes are a must, you will not be permitted to attend with open toe footwear like thongs, sandals, Tevas, etc.
  • Bring at least 1.5L of drinking water
  • Pack lunch and snacks for the day
  • Sunscreen
  • Sun Hat
  • All long hair must be tied back.
