Rockford Wine Private Collection Masterclass and Tasting with Mike and Mez

Event description

Rockford winery in the Barossa Valley pretty much needs no introduction. Old school, good school, traditional 'heartland Barossa' wines done well with a cult-like following. Rockford Basket Press and Black Shiraz alone are at the apex of sought after Australian, premium wines. So why not doing a tasting of some new releases (and some cellared examples), in an intimate, good times session led by Mike Bennie (WineFront, delicious magazine, Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine) and Merrick Watts (Grapes Of Mirth, delicious magazine drinks writer, WSET Level 3)?

Two friends sitting around one day tasting wine, talking and laughing. Mike says “have you got your Stonewall allocation yet? I’m really keen to look at this vintage of Basket Press”

Mez goes straight to Defcon 5, "yeah, why don’t we do a comparative vintage tasting, and we’ll do the same with the Rod and Spur, and also try the new Black Shiraz, plus I have the Vine Vale Riesling and some other members only wine including a hyper-rare Grenache, lets do the lot!”

Mike: “Slow down Mez, we’ll need more people”...

That’s pretty much exactly how it played out! Now we invite you to join us in an intimate tasting and conversation focussed on new release wines with a selection of back vintage wines alongside.

As a 21 year member at Rockford, Merrick has an incredible list of back vintage wines and access to wines the general public simply can’t purchase and he wants to share with you! (and Mike)...
