FAQs

• Do I need experience playing Pickleball to have fun?

  Not at all! While we have a competitive group going for gold - all participants play 3 pool-play games and enter into 2 brackets (Winners & Beginners brackets).

  After bracket play begins and as teams are eliminated, courts will open for free play.

• What are the rules of the Oilfield Pickleball Showdown?

  We will send out official rules closer to the event, but the general format is pool-play (you play several quick games in your 'pool' of a few other teams). The top two teams with the best record in each pool move on to the Winners bracket and the bottom two move into the Beginners bracket.

• Do I need my own paddles and balls?

  No! Paddles and pickleballs will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own paddles.

• I don't have a teammate, can I play?

  Absolutely! We have a number of single players sign up for each showdown. We do our best to match players by skill levels to other individual players who are looking for a teammate. Sign up for an individual ticket, let us know your ability level (after checkout) and we'll match you with another participant.

• Who puts on the event?

  The Oilfield Pickleball Showdown is organized by the Denver section of SPE in partnership with the Rockies section of AADE. Anyone who is involved in the oilfield is welcome to sign up and play, we have anyone from Accountants to the VP of Engineering competing for the top prize!

• Who do I talk to about sponsorship?

  You may sponsor by selecting one of our sponsorship options included here, but if you have questions about sponsorship please reach out to kyle@peaktubulars.com

  Title Sponsor – $3,000

  • Logo printed on all tournament pickleballs

  • Largest logo (when able) + featured placement on all event materials (flyers, banners, website, registration page)

  • One dedicated social media post + tagged in all tournament posts

  • Multiple verbal announcements + special thank you from the emcee

  • Opportunity to speak 1–2 minutes at the opening ceremony

  • 2 team entries (4 players)
