Rodger Fox All-In Big Band Workshop
Event description
New Zealand big band giant Rodger Fox will workshop all age instrumentalists in a big band experience. It is open to players of saxophone, trumpet, trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums. If you want to take part but play a different instrument such as clarinet, please let us know when you register.
Once registered, the music will be emailed out to you ahead of time. It is suitable for players who can follow a chart.
Participants will experience playing in a big band with Rodger Fox, learn about jazz feel and get to do improvisation.
The workshop will take place in the Piano on Armagh Street.
The band will then perform on stage in the Phil Carter Concert Hall in the Piano in the final 20 minutes of the workshop (just after 2pm).
The cost is $15 (or $10 for performers of the Christchurch Big Band Festival).
