Rodrigo Santiago Meets The Evan Trio

Rodrigo Santiago is a guitarist with a unique style that blends traditional gypsy jazz with flamenco, Latin rhythms and modern influences. Born in Spain, Rodrigo has been surrounded and immersed in musical culture from an early age and took up playing the guitar after listening to some of the luminaries of the guitar world.

Rodrigo's love for gypsy jazz began when he discovered the music of Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. He was captivated by the intricate melodies, fast tempos, and virtuosic guitar solos, and began to study the style in depth. Rodrigo furthered his musical studies by completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane, Australia in 2016. Over the years, he has honed his skills and developed his own unique approach to gypsy jazz, incorporating elements of bossa nova, samba, and other Latin rhythms.
