Join Roland and Rockshop at the Christchurch Hip Hop Summit 2026 for Beatlab.

BeatLab is a hands-on music creation experience designed for anyone who wants to get into beatmaking and music production.

Perfect for beginners and anyone curious about electronic music creation, BeatLab makes it easy to get started. No laptops, no complicated setup and no prior experience required — just hands-on beat creation, guided workshops and plenty of time to experiment.

You’ll learn the basics of building a beat, shaping sounds and putting ideas together, with support along the way. By the end of the session, you’ll have created a beat from scratch and have a better understanding of how music production works.

BeatLab is open to all ages and is designed to be social, welcoming and fun — whether you come on your own, with friends or with family.

If you’ve always wanted to try making beats, this is your chance to start.
