Youth Roller Derby Bootcamp
Let's make school holidays even better with this one day Roller Derby Bootcamp. Send your skater to us so they can learn basic derby skills and have some fun.
In this Bootcamp, your skater will learn basic roller derby skills with light contact and gameplay. There will be lunch and snacks provided as well as a fun show bag to take home.
Is it full roller derby? Not quite as roller derby takes more than one day to learn BUT it will take your skating up a level and be fun!
Who is this program for?
- Young people aged between 12-18
- Female or non-binary people
- You must have basic roller skating skills - stopping, striding and balancing/skating on one foot confidently.
When: Thursday 20th January 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre, 57 Barker Rd Albany
How much: $70 ($50 concession)
Insurance: If you have not participated in Skate like a Girl or Junior Roller Skate in Term 4 of 2021 you MUST purchase insurance via Skate Victoria to participate this costs $45 and will last all of 2022
What you'll need:
- Quad skates, protective gear (elbows, knees and wrist guards) and a helmet - Don't have your own? That's OK! We have spares and can loan items. There are no extra costs for loaning our gear.
- Mouthguard - Sisu is our preferred brand and is available at Sportspower in Albany.
- Water bottle - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
What we will provide:
- Gear - We will provide all necessary gear if needed.
- Lunch - Healthy lunch and dietary requirements catered for
- Snacks - We'll make sure the skaters are fed and having fun.
- Show Bag - take home a swag of goodies from the day
