"For never was a story of more woe, Than this of Juliet and her Romeo"

Barkly Theatre is thrilled to present our production of Romeo and Juliet. The greatest love story ever told. Amidst a divided Melbourne in the 1970s, the seminal star crossed lovers are caught between desire, duty, and destiny, forced to take irreconcilable action.

Barkly Theatre acknowledges the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live, work, learn and create. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

Please note this production will contain a strong use of lighting including haze, loud sounds, mentions of self harm, suicide, death, simulated drug use and violence, and reference of murder. A comprehensive accessibility pack is available upon request.
