Romeo Lahey Memorial Lecture 2025
Event description
Join the National Parks Association of Qld (NPAQ) and our esteemed speaker Professor David Lindenmayer for 'Logging, lies and legacy: the ongoing battle for Australia’s forests' — the 2025 Romeo Lahey Memorial Lecture.
The Romeo Lahey Memorial Lecture honours the principal founder of NPAQ. Romeo Lahey remained President for more than 30 years and was instrumental in convincing the Queensland Government to declare many of the state’s national parks gazetted up to the 1970s.
Distinguished Professor David Lindenmayer, AO FAA, author of The Forest Wars, will unveil the dark secrets of logging in Australia’s native forests and explain why it must cease.
Afterwards, enjoy a light morning tea and refreshments.
A raffle will also be held on the day.
