Rongoā Māori Wānanga in Glendene
Event description
Join Emma Haslam (Ngāi Te Rangi and Ngāti Hauā) and explore the medicinal properties of native plants, as well as the tikanga for their harvest and use. Places limited. Bookings essential, by koha. Supported by the Whau Local Board.
We're hoping to have this event at Glendene Reserve, 1a Thornlow Street, Glendene, however, it will be weather dependent. If we need to move indoors you will be advised of the back-up plan at a later date. Please wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing and a raincoat for unexpected rain. Please also bring a face mask for times when we may not be able to physically distance.
If you're able to, we're also holding a matariki community planting event in the reserve between 10am-12pm. This is a good way to learn more about plants, planting and caring for them. It's always important to learn more about kaitiakitanga in action. :)
If you have any questions about this wānanga, please email pamela@ecomatters.org.nz.
Please note: This event has a waitlist activated. If you're unable to attend, please cancel your ticket to allow others to take your spot. Here's how to do so.
