Room 29 Records Launch @ Shotkickers
Event description
Independent Melbourne label, Room 29 Records is hosting a launch gig showcasing four bands from its stable, each with its unique offering but united in their edgy delivery.
Duxie Franklin along with her Long Lost Texan Uncles will kick proceedings off. Described as the love child of Joni Mitchell and Frank Zappa Duxie will be launching her new single Kitschy Coo.
2 Inch Tape will then showcase songs from their 6th album, What I Need. A little bit Lou Reed, a touch of Wilco and a dash of Nick Cave, what could possibly go wrong.Â
Following the success of their debut self-title EP in 2021, Crumbe will be the penultimate band playing their debut album Little Things. A collision between surf, punk and lyrical candour their sound dances on the fringes of Pattie Smith, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young.
And closing proceedings are Fawkner Walking Society who will launch their new single Cheddar Road. Hailing from Melbourne's inner north, their sound is a blend of indie guitar pop and alt-country, reminiscent of Australian 90s alternative pop bands like the Go-Betweens.
Shotkickers is the place, 2pm Sunday 15th October is the time, don’t miss it, Melbourne independent music at is finest.
