Room Service
Event description
Room Service is an immersive takeover of Fremantle’s heritage-listed P&O Hotel — a bold, curated collision of contemporary art, music, performance and place. Across two nights, more than 40 artists occupy 31 hotel rooms, bathrooms, balconies, hallways and washrooms, transforming the historic building into a labyrinth of intimate encounters and unexpected happenings.
Guests are invited to explore room by room — each space reimagined through sculpture, sound, poetry, installation, and live performance. Wander the hallways. Linger in the lobby and forgotten rooms. Eavesdrop through walls. In this hotel, art seeps under doorframes.
Curated by Danielle Caruana and Tom Mùller, and presented by the Fremantle Biennale, Fremantle Culture Council, and Ode to Sirens, Room Service is both exhibition and event — an invitation and procession through history, hospitality, and creative transformation.
The P&O Hotel’s storied past becomes a launchpad for new voices and visions, inviting artists to respond to its layered architecture, fading grandeur and restless history. Check in, explore at your own pace, and let yourself be carried into the night as the P&O Hotel stirs.
