Description

ROOTED — The Art of Becoming is an intimate, earth-centered weekend retreat created by Karya — Form.Function.Flow. at the Inn at Union Pier in Michigan.

Inspired by the cycles of nature, ROOTED invites us to explore a journey of being held, nurtured and nourished—and, from that grounded place, learning to trust, release and renew. It is a reminder that becoming is not a destination. Like the earth, we move through these seasons again and again, returning each time with greater awareness.

Throughout the weekend, Dee will guide alignment-based movement practices created with stability, mobility and adaptability in mind, alongside restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra and breathwork.

The retreat will also include thoughtfully guided circle sessions centered around meaningful questions and reflective prompts. These gatherings will offer space to listen, take notes, explore what is arising and share openly within a supportive community—always at your own level of comfort.

Our retreat weekend coincides with Art Attack, Harbor Country’s annual celebration of art and creativity. As part of our Saturday experience, we will step beyond the Inn to explore a thoughtfully selected offering from the festival, allowing the artistry, energy and character of the surrounding community to become part of our weekend together.

There will also be room to simply pause: to rest, wander, share a conversation or enjoy quiet time on your own. Every part of the weekend is designed as a gentle invitation to arrive as you are, feel more at home within yourself and reconnect with the light already present within you.

Join us April 23–25, 2027, for a warm and intentionally created weekend of movement, reflection, nature, creativity, rest and community at the Inn at Union Pier.

The ROOTED Journey

Friday — Be Held

Arrival, Check-In & Welcome Tea
Arrive between 4:00 and 5:00 PM, settle into your room and enjoy a warm welcome tea.

Opening Circle: Beyond the Roles
We begin by gently setting aside the titles and responsibilities we carry in everyday life. Through guided reflection and optional sharing, we are invited to connect with who we are beneath our roles—and with what has brought each of us to ROOTED.

Seasonal Welcome Supper by Chef Debbie
Gather for wine and a nourishing, seasonally inspired supper featuring three appetizers, a hearty soup and fresh sourdough bread.

Yoga Nidra: Being Held
A deeply restful guided practice inviting the body to soften, the mind to settle and each guest to experience the feeling of being fully supported.

Quiet Evening & Rest

Saturday — Nurture, Nourish & Explore

Morning Coffee or Tea

Alignment-Based Morning Practice
A grounding movement and breath practice created with stability, mobility and adaptability in mind—inviting us to feel rooted, supported and present within the body.

Breakfast at the Inn

Morning Circle: Nurture & Nourish
Through guided reflection and optional sharing, we explore what it means to care for ourselves, receive support and nourish what is ready to grow.

Visit to a Local Farm
We step into the surrounding landscape for a thoughtfully selected local farm experience, connecting with the land, the season and the people who help cultivate it.

Community Lunch at the Farm
We will enjoy lunch together at the farm. Each guest will select and purchase their own meal.

Art Attack Exploration: Follow What Draws You
Spend the afternoon exploring Art Attack throughout Harbor Country, guided by a creative reflection to carry back into our evening circle.

Free Time & Personal Pause
Return to the Inn to rest, reflect, journal or enjoy quiet time before dinner.

Community Dinner in Harbor Country
We will gather at a local restaurant for dinner and conversation. Each guest will select and purchase their own food and beverages.

Evening Circle: Trust & Release
We return to the circle to share what captured our attention during Art Attack and reflect on what it may be revealing to us. Through conversation and guided reflection, we create space to trust what resonates, release what no longer serves us and allow the day’s experiences to settle.

Restorative Yoga & Breathwork
A quiet evening practice to soften the body, calm the nervous system and integrate the day.

Quiet Evening & Rest

Please note: Saturday’s farm lunch and restaurant dinner are shared community experiences. Food and beverages at both meals are purchased individually and are not included in the retreat price.

Sunday — Renew
