Roots to Wellness: Exploring Plant Function and Human Health
Join us for a transformative day dedicated to exploring the science of how plants, soil and the human body function.
Hear from farmers driven by a commitment to human health, who are creating innovative and sustainable business models.
Learn about the similarities between the human body and soil, highlighting the critical importance of healthy soil for overall human health.
Workshop local issues including herbicide resistance and reducing fertiliser and chemical input while maintaining yield and expanding profit.
Speakers:
Joel Williams, Integrated Soils
Joel Williams is an international independent soil and plant health educator who is passionate about designing farming systems that prioritise the management of biology and crop nutrition. Joel's expertise lies in explaining how plants grow, absorb nutrients, interact with microbes and produce secondary metabolites. Working holistically with plants will optimise plant growth, immunity and soil function. His insights offer a clear pathway to sustainable crop and pasture production.
Jake Wolki, Wolki Farm
Jake Wolki is an entrepreneurial farmer from Albury Wodonga. Driven by a passion for treating animals with respect, supporting his family and promoting medicinal food, Jake aims to build a community where farmers and consumers are united by shared values. He raises animals, processes them, sells online, operates an unstaffed self-serve butchery and conducts farm tours. Jake is revolutionising the way farmers share their produce and will captivate you with his quick wit and ability to challenge the status quo.
Stacey Curcio, Cultivating Wellness
Stacey is a qualified Naturopath with a special interest in clinical holistic nutrition, regenerative agriculture and supporting those living in rural and regional Australia. Growing up as the daughter of Terry McCosker from RCS, Stacey has a strong understanding of soil function.
