Fri, 7 Feb, 3pm - 10 Feb, 11am 2025 AEDT

Event description

Before growing tall, tree roots take time to grow deep - up to 200 feet deep - into the earth. There they receive nourishment and stability from the depths, from deep dark sources of water, minerals and stone.

Women need this type of nourishment network too.

When safe in the cave of our underworld: we have space to feel, to be.

We are able to trust in the rooted support of sacred sisterhood. We know ourselves, we feel ourselves...

We become embodied, empowered and alive.

Set in a spacious clearing on Dharug Country, NSW for 3 nights of:

🌱 Over 60+ Embodied Retreat Style Workshops

🌱 7 activated workshop spaces for growth and empowerment: Yin Space, Yang Space, Womb Temple, Coven Corner, Mama's Nook, Siren Space + Wellness Tree

🌱 Powerhouse line up of all-female DJs

🌱 Wise Women Panel Talks and Presentations

🌱 Jaw-dropping Live Performances

🌱 Fire Flow Arts Circle + Open Mic Stage

🌱 Communal Organic Food Feast

🌱 Clothes Swap

🌱 Artisan Marketplace

🌱 Hand Poked Tattuus + Massage + Pussy Palace + Healing Temple

🌱 River Swimming + Nature Walks

Roots is a create-your-own-adventure event. No workshops are compulsory and solo attendees are welcomed into the sisterhood. There are plenty of connection based workshops for you to meet like-minded women and long-lasting friends on your frequency.

    What is Roots?

Roots holds you safely in the exploration of the feminine underworld, through embodiment, connection, expansion and surrender.

Supported in sisterhood and remembering our bodies as home - we move through expression, Eros, emotion and empowerment. Our 3 day retreat style, festival experience offers a journey through a variety of embodiment modalities - giving you space to interpret the language of your feminine spirit through shapes, rhythms, sounds and cycles.

Roots is a place of uninhibited, unfiltered, raw expression. We believe that as we gather in safety and sisterhood, we create a new paths forward for the times we have been shamed - even burned at the stake - for expressing ourselves and listening to our intuition.

We gather to play, to feel, to express, to grow, to heal, to see, to be seen and to be heard.

Please note Roots is a PRIVATE NON PROFIT EVENT raising funds for our non profit organisation Roots Collective.

Roots creates spaces designed to honour and explore the unique experiences of those who have lived within the processes of menstruation, birth, and menopause and/or the female biological experience. We recognise that each person’s gender journey is deeply individual, and that identity does not always align with biology or assigned gender. Our events primarily explore themes connected to experiences often shared by cisgender women, and many of our workshops reflect this focus.

We share this information transparently so that those joining us can feel fully supported and safe, and to create a space aligned with our intentions of care, clarity, and support. We welcome all who feel drawn to explore these themes with us.

For those seeking spaces with a broader focus on gender diversity, we recommend our friends at @collective_kaleidoscope and @ember.collaborative, who host events for the genderqueer community and welcome all who identify as women. We’re thankful for the variety of spaces in our community, and we hope that everyone finds one that feels just right for you!
