The Ros Worthington Out of the Shadows Walk
Event description
The Ros Worthington Out of the Shadows Walk
5:30am, Sunday 14th September 2025
The Ros Worthington Out of the Shadows Walk is one of the most meaningful events on the Lifeline WA calendar. It's a time for quiet reflection, connection and remembrance, a space where we come together to honour those we've lost to suicide and stand alongside those who've been affected.
This year, the event has been renamed in memory of Dr Ros Worthington OAM, a beloved philanthropist, passionate advocate and the founder of this annual tradition. Ros understood the deep pain of loss and the importance of gathering with others who had experienced the same. Her compassion and determination have helped shape Lifeline WA into what it is today.
As we walk together at sunrise, we do so in remembrance of those we've lost and in solidarity with one another. We walk out of the shadows with courage, compassion and hope, sharing our stories and keeping memories alive.
The walk takes place just days after World Suicide Prevention Day (11 September) to reflect the power of coming together, whether you're walking in remembrance of a loved one or in support of someone who is.
Please note: This is a subsidiary event of the national Out of the Shadows initiative. It is a gentle loop walk through Kings Park, and not a 9km fundraising walk. If you would like to support our fundraising efforts, you can take part in the Out of the Shadows Fundraising Walk in your own time and location. Find out more or register here.
*The Ros Worthington Out of the Shadows Walk is free to attend, but RSVPs are essential so we can ensure everyone is supported on the day.
