Rose City Brass Quintet celebrates the release of their first album, "Disquiet". Conceived of and recorded during the intersection of the global pandemic and the social strife of 2020, RCBQ has commissioned and curated a set of works that speak to our times. Newly written works by Joyce Solomon Moorman, Dana Reason, Joey Sellers and Lars Campbell, some focusing on the isolation of the pandemic, others around the racial inequities that permeate our society, pair with existing works by David Sampson and Tomas Svoboda, speaking to the themes of oppression and isolation via the tragedies of the Greensboro Massacre and the tyrannical Communism in Czechoslovakia. Through these pieces, RCBQ aims to grapple, imperfectly, with this shared moment of disquiet.
