Description
A place to reclaim your power
The ROSE Program (ROSE), Reclaim, Overcome, Strengthen and Empower, is a safe, confidential and trauma-informed group exercise program for women who are experiencing, or have experienced, family and domestic violence.
ROSE is about more than exercise. It is a place to move, build strength, create routine, connect with other women and be part of a supportive community.
You do not need to be fit, confident with exercise or have any previous gym experience to attend. Sessions are welcoming and adaptable to a range of abilities.
Women are not required to discuss their experiences of family and domestic violence. You may share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
What to expect
ROSE is held every Friday morning from 9.15 am and runs for approximately 45 minutes.
After the exercise session, women are welcome to stay for Coffee and Connection — an informal opportunity to enjoy a coffee, chat and connect with others at their own pace.
Shower facilities are available.
Crèche care is also available until 11.45 am for a maximum of two children per participant, aged from eight weeks to six years. Crèche places are subject to availability and a separate small fee applies for up to two hours of care.
Your first ROSE session
First-time participants complete a short confidential health and exercise safety screening as part of the booking process. This allows us to understand any individual exercise needs without requiring a separate induction appointment.
Returning participants will only be asked to confirm whether anything relevant to their health or exercise participation has changed since their previous attendance.
New participants will be welcomed and introduced to ROSE when they arrive.
Booking your session
A $10 participant contribution applies to each Friday ROSE session.
Bookings are made in advance through Humanitix for the individual Friday session you intend to attend.
Bookings must be made before 12:00pm on the Thursday before the session.
Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable in the event of participant cancellation, change of mind or non-attendance.
To protect the privacy and confidentiality of participants, full location details are provided following booking.
We encourage women to attend regularly where their circumstances allow, while recognising that life does not always run according to plan.
Come as you are. ROSE is here to help build strength, community and hope.
