Description

Winter is not the garden’s rest - It is preparation time.

Join us for an intimate rose pruning experience in the gardens of Rose Social Baldivis, where winter becomes the quiet art of shaping what will bloom soon.

✂️ Hands-on rose pruning guidance
☕ Morning tea in the garden
🔪 Complimentary secateur sharpening
🌿 Seasonal garden wisdom shared with love.

🌹 THE EXPERIENCE

This is not a workshop, It is a seasonal ritual in the garden when winter mornings spent learning to read your roses, understand their structure, and confidently shape them for abundant spring growth.

Topics will be discussed:

1 — Foundations of Pruning
Confidence, timing, and understanding rose growth

2 — Shape & Structure
How to prune for form, airflow, and flowering power

3 — Health & Renewal
Strengthening plants through winter care and disease prevention

4 — Mastery & Spring Preparation
Final shaping cuts, feeding, and preparing for bloom season

You’ll leave not just with knowledge—but with instinct.

🌹 WHY THIS WORKSHOP IS DIFFERENT?

Most pruning advice is rushed, generic, and forgettable.

This is slow learning in real time:

  • learn how simple cuts executed with care

  • learn how the garden changes

  • experience how your pruning confidence grows naturally

✨ THE GARDEN SETTING

Held at Rose Social Baldivis, surrounded by huge variety of roses, cottage plantings, and open winter light.

This is a working garden in its quiet season—where structure, soil, and intention matter most.

Morning tea is provided in our rose garden, not inside a classroom.

⏳ PLACES ARE LIMITED

To preserve the intimacy of the experience, each session is strictly limited in numbers.

Once booked, this series is not repeated in the same form until next winter.

Winter rose pruning is a seasonal window—when it passes, it’s gone.

FAQs

  • Do I need any experience with roses or pruning?

Not at all. This workshop is designed for beginners through to confident gardeners. You’ll be guided step-by-step in a relaxed, hands-on way so you can prune with confidence by the end of the session.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

Just bring your secateurs if you have them (we’ll also have tools available to demonstrate techniques). Everything else is taken care of, including morning tea and complimentary secateur sharpening.

  • What happens if it rains?

The workshop still goes ahead in light rain, as roses are pruned in winter conditions. In the case of severe weather, we will reschedule or offer an alternative option so you don’t miss out.

  • Is this suitable as a gift?

Yes — this is a beautiful gift for anyone who loves gardening, roses, or slow, seasonal experiences. It makes a thoughtful present for birthdays, Mother’s Day-style gifting, or simply someone who would enjoy a peaceful morning in the garden learning a new skill. Gift bookings are welcome, and we can provide a digital voucher upon request.
