Description

Most of us react before we think, repeat the same patterns in hard conversations, and end up frustrated by results we didn't choose.

This free four-week/four-session practice lab, built around MindShifting: Stop Your Brain from Sabotaging Your Happiness and Success, is a chance to step back, learn what's actually happening in your brain when you react, and try out small techniques that change how you respond. All four sessions are on Zoom and start at 5:00PM Eastern/2:00PM Pacific:

  • June 3: Chapter 1. How the brain makes decisions, why certainty closes us off, and how to open up to being resourceful.

  • June 10: Chapters 2 & 3. How the brain builds scripts and stories as shortcuts, and the three-step process for rewriting them.

  • June 17: Chapters 4 & 5. How to intercept cognitive biases and emotional reactions, plus 12 methods for becoming resourceful.

  • June 24: Chapter 6. Tapping into the powers of the resourceful mind and overcoming the internal saboteurs that hold us back.

Before each session, participants should read the relevant chapters from MindShifting: Stop Your Brain from Sabotaging Your Happiness and Success. The Kindle version will be on sale for 99 cents starting May 25 through June 2.

Each session will be a discussion, lasting about an hour. You'll work in small group breakouts and full-group conversations, with plenty of chances to apply the techniques to the places in your life where you feel stuck, anxious, or dissatisfied.

Reserve your free seat using the blue button. You'll get the Zoom link by email after registering.

Testimonials

  • I learned to be kinder and more empathetic to myself, focusing on being present rather than letting an endless to-do list control my thoughts and emotions. I can offer myself self-compassion when overwhelmed, which gives me the energy and clarity to move forward.

  • MindShifting provided practical ways to shift my thinking, allowing me to use the Interceptor and Self-Commander to pause, reset, and respond thoughtfully rather than spiraling into negative thinking.

  • This helps me in both my professional and personal life. It has empowered me to shift out of my reactive limbic brain and into a calmer, more efficient resourceful frame of mind.

  • I definitely recommend this to anyone. I got digestible tips and tricks that I've applied to manage day-to-day personal and professional stressors, improving my overall mental health by learning to catch myself when I get into panic mode.

  • I strongly recommend MindShifting, it's a wonderful opportunity to stop and talk, reflect, and learn about our brain. I've benefitted from learning how to pause and look at difficult situations through different lenses instead of instantly reacting with verbal frustration and wasted energy.

  • If you read the material and participate, you will gain insight into your own brain and processes, and be better equipped to handle different situations, It's eye-opening to realize how often we operate out of impulse and reaction, and you will benefit by learning how to bring your focus back to mindful next steps.

About the book

If you've ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or limited by past experiences, this book is for you. If you've ever found yourself angrily reacting to another person or situation without being able to make a positive impact, this book is for you. If you've ever felt absolutely sure of something, and later found out you might have missed something that was right in front of you, this book is for you.

MindShifting will show you how to take control of your mind and reshape your future.

MindShifting: Stop Your Brain from Sabotaging Your Happiness and Success explores the hidden cognitive patterns that shape our decisions, habits, and emotions. This book is a science-backed guide to recognizing and reprogramming the thought loops that limit personal and professional success. Instead of staying stuck in the "survival mind"—the part of our brain wired for fear, certainty, and blame—we can learn to activate the Sage Mindset: a set of powers rooted in curiosity, empathy, creativity, and resilience.

You will learn:

  • How self-sabotaging thoughts operate, and how to stop them.

  • Neuroscience-based techniques to reframe challenges into opportunities.

  • How to develop a flexible, resourceful mindset to adapt to any situation.

  • Practical exercises to train your brain for long-term growth and resilience.

If you want a closer look at the book first, here's a chapter-by-chapter description.
