Rotary Club of Lindisfarne Talks - Stephen Bray
Event description
Rotary Club of Lindisfarne member, Stephen Bray, and his son travelled to Nepal in 2023 to do an “easy” trek in the Annapurna region with very little idea on what to expect other than the blurb from the trekking company that they booked through. In fact, Stephen's main source of knowledge of Nepal was from an Indiana Jones movie and a fictitious novel about backpackers disappearing from a Kathmandu bar!
They enjoyed their trip so much that they returned in 2024 to do the more challenging Gokyo Lakes trek in Sir Edmund Hillary’s “backyard”. This trek came with some unexpected surprises.
Stephen's presentation is not only about his treks through the valley and mountains of Nepal but also about some of the places you can experience as a tourist.
