Rotary Club of Sydney - On the International Day for Eradicating Poverty what can we do?
Event description
On the International Day for Eradication of Poverty we have the pleasure of hosting Darian Clark of Credit Union Foundation Australia (CUFA) for another in our much anticipated series of Boardroom Dialogues.
Darian brings almost 20 years of development experience in the Asia-Pacific, working in Timor-Leste (2009-11), Afghanistan (2012-13), Papua New Guinea (2016-2019) and the Solomon Islands (2020) across various sectors including governance, economic development and emergency response. He also has background in Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Kiribati and the Philippines. Darian worked for over a decade managing the Australian Government aid program as a governance and humanitarian specialist; and several years as a technical adviser with Abt Associates and DT Global, associate director with Palladium, and senior consultant with Alinea International. In his current capacity as CEO of the financial inclusion NGO, the Credit Union Foundation of Australia (CUFA), he drives a dynamic program portfolio across the Asia-Pacific to support the economic development and resilience of disadvantaged communities.
Hear about CUFA's vision for all communities of the Asia Pacific region to be free of poverty through economics development and self-determination.
This is a great opportunity for our club to consider how the eradication of poverty can be a cornerstone of our next Project of Scale for the Pacific/Oceania region as a follow on from Rotary Give Every Child a Future.
