Guest Speaker Sandra Hills OAM, CEO Benetas
Topic: 'Ageing in Place'
With more than 30 years of experience in health and aged care, Sandra has deep expertise in senior roles in the for purpose, local and state government sectors, across aged care, community health, and disability services.
In 2017 she was acknowledged for her service to aged care and promoting women in the workplace with a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division.
As a future focused CEO of Benetas, Sandra has led the organisation since 2009. Benetas offers the full breadth of aged care services in metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria, serving more than 15,000 consumers across residential homes, retirement living, in-home and community services, respite and allied health.
Sandra takes an active role in supporting the sector through industry leadership roles, as a Director of Anglicare Australia, a member of the Ageing Australia (VIC) State Member Council and the Ageing Australia Eastern Seaboard Chapter, a member of the National Aged Care Alliance, and as a Director of the former Aged Care Workforce Industry Council, and a long serving ex Director and Vice president of Leading Aged Services Victoria (LASA), Sandra is also a member of Chief Executive Women (CEW).
Sandra’s qualifications include nursing, psychology, human resources, research and business management.
Sandra’s has published works on quality and best practice care, consumer engagement, social isolation, models of care, promotion of good ageing and end-of-life experience, workforce issues, leveraging data and future reform agenda.
