Ms. Paule Ignatio is Consul General of France in Melbourne, responsible for Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
She was appointed by the President of the French Republic in September 2024, after serving as Diplomatic Advisor to the French Minister for Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games since July 2022.
Ms Ignatio graduated from Sciences Po Paris (Paris Institute of Political Studies) and earned a degree in Vietnamese from the French Institute for Oriental Civilizations and Languages (INALCO) and speaks English, German, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
A career diplomat since 2002 she has held senior diplomatic appointments for France in Asia and Paris, including Deputy Consul General in Hong Kong and Macau, and Head of Cooperation in Vietnam. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff and Head of Protocol for the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (2020–2022).
In 2017, she was awarded the Gold Medal for Youth, Sports, and Community Engagement for her contribution to the successful candidacy of Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games.
