The Rotorua Repair Café is a free pop-up event for locals to bring in broken or damaged belongings with local volunteer experts doing their best to repair them.

What kind of things can I register for repair?

Clothing, Bikes, Small electrical appliances, Laptops, Chainsaw Sharpening, Soft Toys, General items.

Where is it?

Inside at the Arts Village, 1240 Hinemaru Street, Rotorua. Look for the flags!

How does it work?

🛠️ Register your item online, you will receive a confirmation email.

🛠️ Bring Parts if you think they are needed: If your item requires parts, it would be helpful if you purchase these and bring them with you to the event.

🛠️ Turn Up/Sign in: you’ll be paired with one of our volunteer repairers who will work with you to identify the issue and potential solution.

🛠️ Please Be Patient & Kind: our volunteers will do their best to repair or advise next steps but we can’t guarantee everything you bring in will be able to be fixed.

What else will be there? A kid’s tinker table is available to keep little ones busy, colouring in and often repair demonstrations.

Is there a cost?

The Rotorua Repair Café is free to attend. Your koha would be most appreciated and helps us to keep this service available to the community. You can koha during registration or find our white donation bucket on the day to help us continue this service.
