Event description

Let’s work together to reduce waste to landfill. Join us on the third Saturday of each month, 10am – 12pm @ The Arts Village (Studio 2)
The Rotorua Repair Café is a free pop-up event for locals to bring in broken or damaged belongings with local volunteer experts doing their best to repair them.

To register for this repair event click the green 'REGISTER' button above.

~~~~~~~~~~
What kind of things can I register for repair?
Clothing, Bikes, Small electrical appliances, Laptops, Chainsaw Sharpening, Soft Toys, General items
Where is it?
Studio 2, The Arts Village, 1240 Hinemaru Street, Rotorua
How does it work?
🛠️ Pre-register your item online, you will receive a confirmation email.
🛠️ Bring Parts: If your item requires parts, you need to purchase these and bring them with you to the event.
🛠️ Attend / Sign in: you’ll be paired with one of our volunteer repairers who will work with you to identify the issue and potential solution.
🛠️ Be Patient & Kind: our volunteers will do their best to repair or advise next steps but we can’t guarantee everything you bring in will be able to be fixed.
What else will be there? A kid’s tinker table is available to keep little ones busy, colouring in and often repair demonstrations.
Is there a cost?
The Rotorua Repair Café is free to attend. Koha is encouraged to enable this service to continue. You can koha during registration or find our white donation bucket on the day to help us continue this service.
Do you have some handy skills to share?
Feeling lost in a world of waste?
Right to Repair Amendment Bill has been drawn from the Member’s Bill ballot - courtesy of Green's party co-leader Marama Davidson. This would be a huge win for the right to repair movement - extending the lifetime of goods and reducing landfill. Sign and share our petition to help us get to 20,000 signatures!
