CANCELLED: Rough Science - Winter Holiday Program 2024

Join us for a day of creativity, exploration, and scientific discovery with our Rough Science Holiday Program! This day-long event runs from 9am to 4pm and offers young scientists the opportunity to dive into three hands-on science activities: Bloom Builders, Launch Lab, and World's Greatest Slime.

Participants will do all three activities over the course of the day:

MORNING: BLOOM BUILDERS

Participants will be finding out about plant identification as we design and create their own unique flowers from paper and cardboard. They'll learn about the intricate parts of a flower, the role of pollen and nectar, and the importance of pollinators.

MID-MORNING: LAUNCH LAB

Step into the shoes of rocket engineers as build and launch your very own rocket! Participants will explore the principles of aerodynamics and propulsion, constructing rockets with fins, fuselage, and nose cones, and then launching them high into the sky using compressed air…

AFTERNOON: WORLD’S GREATEST SLIME

Dive into the ooey-gooey world of slime creation! Participants will learn about the science behind slime, customize their creations with different colors and textures, and enjoy the tactile fun of playing with their handmade slime.
