    Event description

P.A.K Records proudly presents ROUND AND ROUND - a new boutique Winter festival on Kaurna Yerta.
2 stages. No clashes. 5 straight hours of live music.

    FEATURING:

    Leah Senior (VIC)
Headlining the event will be Leah Senior who is making her way to Adelaide for the first time in over 5 years, fresh from her massive USA tour this Summer in support of her latest album The Music That I Make. Leah Senior silences audiences with vivid lyricism and a voice that soars with a disarmingly honest Sandy Denny-like clarity. Leah effortlessly weaves together spring-time baroque pop playfulness with a fragile blend of bedroom folk. Her fourth album The Music That I Make (2023, Poison City Records) reveals Leah at her most intimate, her songs a cycle of vulnerable meditations on what it means to create. The Music That I Make transports the listener to her sandstone shack in Anglesea, where autumnal British folk meets rain streaked AM radio.

    Porpoise Spit (VIC)
    Porpoise Spit
have built an audience in Melbourne and increasingly around Australia playing shows with peers such as Cash Savage, Cable Ties and Press Club; the groups roots are in the punk scene, yet the songs also bring to mind the likes of Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen. They were names first by Double J in their recent Best Bands at BIGSOUND feature, praising their "stirring brand of rock that merges heartfelt ballads, raucous energy, thrashing guitars and a socially progressive punk spirit." The 4 piece released their long-awaited debut album Don't Quit in 2023 on vinyl and streaming platforms.

    Placement (SA)
With a nod to a collective nostalgia for grimy 90's bands reclaiming and celebrating guitar music, Placement lean into guitars you want to hum and a rhythmic, often spoken vocal that glues the groove, steering it through expansive storytelling, humour and the poetry of the everyday. Formed by a group of creatives from Kaurna Yerta/South Australia, Placement have spent the last few years honing their live sound, playing across the East and South coasts of Australia, and have quickly built a reputation for their ferocious live performance. With countless international supports, a busy touring schedule and a freshly finished debut album to be released in the coming months. Placement are carving a place in the Australian alternative scene through new creative frontiers.

    Coldwave (SA)
Known for their buzz-saw twin guitars, booming horns and high-octane live set, Coldwave serve an abrasive brand of post-punk that is controlled in its chaos, described by Triple J’s Dave Ruby Howe as “pulse accelerant”.
