Ruckus Anti-Valentine Poetry Slam!

You've heard of this thing called Poetry Slam. You've seen it in movies and viral videos. You've bullied the nerd at school about it. (Although let's be honest, if you're reading this you were probably the nerd.)

Well now's your chance to make good and actually see what it's all about!

A poetry slam is an OPEN MIC competition where ANYBODY can sign up on the night to spend 2 minutes at the microphone doing... well, pretty much anything. Usually poetry, but sometimes things get weirder.

Do I have to perform?
Heck no, we're not that cruel! Come along and just watch!

Does my poem have to fit a theme?
No, our "themes" for each month are very loose and some poets use them as writing prompts. But we don't curate or censor so bring along any kind of original work!

Can I buy tickets on the door?
Yes!

Is the venue accessible?
Yes! Our new venue Mirrorball Ministries is 100% accessible!

What if I miss out on a sign-up spot?
We really do our best to make sure we get a good assortment of poets and over the years we've found the most fair way is for it to be a first-in-best-dressed for signup, so we advise getting there close to 6:30pm when the doors open to have a better chance of getting in!
