New year, new skills?

Learn the relaxing art of rug weaving in small group sessions. Find wellness, in repetition and connection, whilst making upcycled handmade home decor.

These workshops are designed for people who have no experience in rug weaving, and all materials will be supplied. Each session is 2 hours; a minimum of 2 sessions are recommended, however, up to 5 sessions are encouraged to create your own small rug.

The first session will focus on techniques and provide the foundation of skills/instructions.

From there you will be able to make your own item depending on the number of sessions:

2 sessions = a surface protector (kitchen heat pad)
3 sessions = a bum saver (seat cushion for hard surfaces)
4-5 sessions = a cosy rug or floor mat for your home

Early Bird Sessions for January 2025 are $25 each - please book at least 2 sessions to make the most of your experience.

Your ticket includes:

1 x 2 hour workshop
All materials and tools provided to get you started
A bubbly drink on arrival (drinks available to purchase afterwards)
New skill bragging rights

Price will increase from 10 February 2025.

Workshops will be at Plant 3 Bowden, exact details will be sent to attendees.

You're welcome to bring your own cotton material/colours/patterns - please get in touch to find out what materials work best.
