RUNNING CREEK

4-6 May 2024

Labour Day Long Weekend.

Join us for a great weekend camping at a fabulous location on private property.

Hosted by Red Rivers – Scenic riding at Running Creek, Beaudesert Region.

Sits between the protected forest of Mount Chinghee and the border ranges, enjoy scenic views from all angles.

Getting there: 1615 Running Creek Road, (Lions Road) Running Creek (near Rathdowney) 

The camp is self- catered but nibblies will be provided on Saturday night around the campfire. Book in quick as numbers are limited especially as this is private property and space is limited.

Friday: You can arrive after 2pm onward. No rides are scheduled. Dinner is self -catered around the campfire.

Saturday: Ride out at 9.30 am Bring a saddle bag lunch and afternoon tea. Ride will be approximately 3-4 hours. Expecting to be back at camp around 2 pm to allow horses to be washed/cooled down etc and settled in for the night before it becomes cooler.

Sunday: All day ride departs 9am. 6-7 hour ride. Saddlebag morning tea and lunch. Dinner back at camp.

Monday: 3 hour ride around the cattle property. Pack up time.

Riders will need to be experienced in cattle country riding and horses need to be hill fit and seasoned as there is mixed terrain with some very hilly sections.

Horses will need to be shod, boots or long term bare-footers.

horse water will be available but you will need to BYO human drinking water, toilet, shower, horse food and electric fencing and food for the duration of the camp.

Cost: $20 per rider for the weekend. $25 ATHRA affiliated
