Rural Ramble x CHB Pregnancy & Parenting
Description
Rural Ramble: New Parents Edition
📍Taniwha Daffodils
📅 Tuesday 15th September
🕘 9am – 1pm
A morning off the treadmill of new parenthood — for you, not just the baby.
On the day:
🤍 Connect with baby — a guided, interactive baby massage session with Melisa Franklin, Activeworx Health. Bring bub, bring a blanket, bring zero expectations.
💪 Pelvic floor, properly explained — Jen Mackie, The Lifestyle Physio (Pelvic Health & MSK Physiotherapist) talks through what’s actually going on postnatally and beyond, then takes you straight into a practical movement class so you leave knowing how to strengthen safely — not just told to “do your kegels.”
🍽️ Fed properly — morning tea and goodness bowls by chef Kate Delatour. Actually good food, not a muffin and a prayer.
🏕️ Our own private space — away from the crowds, sheltered from the weather. No performing, no rushing, just us.
🌼 A wander through the daffodils — the grounds at Taniwha are in full bloom this time of year. Included in your ticket is a bouquet of dafodils, because the day should keep giving.
To bring: Pram, layers, yoga mat (we have spare), blanket for baby massage, what you need for Bub for the morning. Food supplied is aimed at the adults.
What is the Rural Ramble?
The Rural Ramble started as an idea I (Jen - The Lifestyle Physio) couldn’t shake — that everything I’d learned about lifestyle medicine shouldn’t just live in a clinic room. It needed to get outside, into the community, onto the paddocks and gravel roads where rural women actually are.
Some sessions lean business — the practical stuff of running something out here, the isolation of it, the juggling. Others lean health — the science made simple, the “why” behind the advice you’ve heard a hundred times. But underneath every Ramble, four things stay constant: nature, nutrition, movement, connection.
It’s not a program. It’s a standing invitation — turn up, walk, talk, learn something, leave lighter than you came.
This Ramble is brought to you by The CHB Pregnancy and Parenting group.
