S-ence returns to the Cuba St Tavern Courtyard with what will be one of the standout events of the year.

Featuring Jasper James from Glasgow this is a strictly limited intimate dancefloor experience not to be missed.

Jasper James is part of the great UK tradition of standout resident DJs who go on to international acclaim. His well-honed ability to work a dance floor and his eclecticism are what has got him there. A decade or so after breaking out, he’s now matured as a DJ and producer to the point where he has the confidence to lead his crowd wherever he wants and they always go with him wherever he plays. Synonymous with long sets and an innate ability to read a crowd, his immediate early impact led to high-profile gigs as soon as he arrived on the scene.

He is now perfectly at home at places like fabric, Circoloco, WHP, Glasgow's very own Sub Club and many more alongside a who's who of the underground scene. It's almost impossible to define his sound, switching between heavy, swing-fuelled house, fizzing techno tools and twitchy minimal wig-outs. Essentially, what you get from Jasper James are stripped-back solid grooves that make people move. Releasing on labels ranging from Optimo Trax and ESP Institute through to No Art, as well as his own Mitchell Street Records imprint, the quality remains high because releases only come when James truly connects with them. With a flurry of new music currently in the pipeline, Jasper James remains as vital a presence in the underground as ever.
