Nathan Hawkes - Chief Procurement Officer, Department for Education, South Australia

My role as the Chief Procurement Officer is to enable education to thrive. This role requires me to shape strategic thinking and change, drive business excellence and achieve results. My key responsibility is leading and managing the Departments procurement and transport functions.

I am a proven procurement leader with a track record of leading multifaceted and expansive procurement and operation functions. My vision for procurement is to be agile, progressive, provides assurity of outcomes, relationship driven, safety focused, fosters collaboration and delivers best value.

I also have extensive and proven experience in providing strategic advice, implementing change, innovative procurement models, establishing collaborative frameworks and creating effective governance and business models. In addition, I have presented at major conferences and regularly undertake guest lectures on Procurement, Team Culture and Project Success.
