This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

This second dinner of the year will be held on Wednesday 21 June at 6.30 for 7.00pm, at the Vileroy restaurant, 27 Kensington Road, Norwood.

The usual practice will continue; the set two-course menu (with some choices) will cost $48.00 each and payable to the restaurant on the evening, and the Academy generously funds the drinks.

The dinner presentation will take on a slightly different format this time as an ‘in conversation’ with Claire Williams and Sharyn talking about Claire’s: ‘Adventures in work research -- reminiscences and reflections beginning with my first book, Opencut: the working class in an Australian mining town’.

The presentation continues for approximately 20 minutes with plenty of time for discussion, both more formal and informal over dinner.

If you would like to attend, please register online by no later than 15 June.

Dates, speakers and titles for the remaining two dinners are:

  • 16 August: Martha Augustinos: The social psychology of hate speech
  • 18 October: Wilf Prest: The second edition of the Wakefield Companion to South Australian History: What makes SA different?

Further information about the presentations and the speakers will be circulated closer to the dates.
