We warmly welcome you to the Preterm and Early Term Birth Prevention Symposium. This symposium brings together clinicians working across primary, secondary, and tertiary maternity care to strengthen our shared approach to the prevention of preterm and early term birth.

Preterm and early term birth are leading contributors to neonatal morbidity and long‑term health impacts for children and families. Preventing avoidable early birth requires coordinated, evidence‑based care delivered across the continuum; from preconception and early pregnancy through to birth planning and follow‑up.

This symposium aims to support clinicians with practical, contemporary evidence and foster collaboration across disciplines and settings, recognising that prevention is a shared responsibility.

Who This Symposium Is For

This symposium is designed for clinicians involved in maternity care across a range of settings, including but not limited to Obstetricians, General Practitioners, Medical Officers, Aboriginal Health Workers, Midwives, Nurses and Sonographers.

The content reflects the complementary roles each profession plays in identifying risk, delivering prevention strategies, providing culturally responsive care, and supporting timely referral and escalation. Shared learning and interdisciplinary collaboration are central to the objectives of the evening.
