ABOUT CARLY

Business Owner. Entrepreneur. Changemaker. Weaver of women. A joy seeker. A mother. A wife. Business Nurturer. And founder of SA Woman.

Carly's path to business was a winding one. After many years of university, post-grad studies and more, Carly left her career to go into her first business with her husband. It wasn't long before she had the itch to go out on her own, and now, 14 years later, she continues to run her own businesses aligned with her passion of supporting women.

She's had failures. She's had successes. She's built businesses on the smell of an oily rag. Built them up. Closed them down. And started all over again!  She has worn all the hats at every level and every part of her businesses. She makes no lie about the unglamourous side of business. She worked in a career and a business – side by side. She's worn all the hats within her businesses, and learnt the value in letting go and growing a team sustainably. And she's done it all while juggling motherhood.

A huge turning point for her was when she experienced burnout, and it changed her path and outlook. The world of the hustle was no longer appealing. She sought joy in business and in life, something that she realised had been missing. And found ways to realign her business with her values and what was most important to her, so that she could flourish again. She doesn't hide the fact that the business world can try pull her off her path, but being clear on what matters to her means she can now pivot right on back into her own lane.

This path led her to founding SA Woman, combining all her passions into one and creating a greater impact on the recognition and connection of women in business and careers all across South Australia. She has recently brought in her personal brand, She Nurtures, into the SA Woman fold so she can continue to provide business nurturing to women in SA who are wanting to reimagine business their way, to align with what matters most to them and achieve their own definition of success. Carly is not not your guru, she believes you are your own guru and is there to hold your hand and walk beside you as a support, a cheerleader and a mentor. Her mission is to help you believe and trust in your intuition, you know your business best!

You can find out more about her, and her path at www.shenurtures.com.au or on linkedin at Carly Thompson-Barry.
