Mark investigates Australia’s housing crisis, uncovering the policies which supercharged the housing market, the solutions at hand, and one big revelation that might just fix it.

Join us for a screening of SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream, a powerful new film that shines a light on how our housing system has been shaped by politics, profit, and policy failure.

After the film, we’ll host a panel discussion with leading voices on housing justice. Together, we’ll explore what can be done right now to fix the housing crisis - and how you can be part of the change.

You’ll leave with practical actions you can take to push for:
✅ More public and community housing
✅ An end to unfair tax handouts that fuel the crisis
✅ A fair go for renters

Maiy Azize
Maiy is the National Spokesperson for Everybody’s Home, and a leading voice on housing affordability, homelessness, and renters’ rights.

Angela Myers
Angela is a housing and human rights advocate with lived rental experience, contributing her expertise through the Anti-Poverty Network, CALHN, and Rights Resource Network SA.

Bill Code
Bill is Director and Producer of SOLD! Who Broke the Australian Dream?, an impact filmmaker with a journalism background at Al Jazeera, BBC, Guardian Australia and SBS.

Moderator: Dr. Catherine Earl
Catherine is CEO of SACOSS, leading statewide advocacy for social justice. She brings extensive experience in research, policy, and community services to drive systemic change.

Everybody’s Home is the national campaign to fix Australia’s housing system. We call on governments to:

Build more public and community homes
Abolish tax handouts that fuel the crisis
Ensure renters have a fair go

South Australian Council for Social Services are the peak body for the community services and health sector in South Australia. Together, we work to:

Advocate for equity and justice for people experiencing poverty and disadvantage
Strengthen and support the community services sector
Drive systemic change to create a fairer SA
