Event description

A 4 Day intensive workshop exploring Sankrit Mantra for integration within Sound Healing, Yoga teaching or personal meditation practice.

This course is an introduction to Nāda Yoga (the Yoga of Sound) and Sanskrit Mantra. It is an opportunity to explore the Sanskrit alphabet and to learn and practice a range of Sanskrit mantras in various styles. There will be a focus on the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit with the aim of activating the true vibrations that these frequency combinations create within our physical and energetic bodies and developing this as a spiritual practice rather than just mechanical recitation, leaning into the subtle beauty of each sound. Sanskrit is a mystical and magical language that when applied in the practice of mantra can be a powerful devotional and transformational tool. The workshop does not assume any prior knowledge. It has a focus on building your confidence and skills in a supportive learning environment.

Voice work

Many people feel a bit nervous of using their voice or may have been told in the past that they can’t sing. This workshop will help you build a new relationship with your voice. After all, the voice is the most powerful tool for healing, and each of us has our own unique voice, that is different to anyone else’s. I’ve had so many students who say they can’t use their voice….but during a workshop they have re-discovered their voice and come into a renewed confidence and joy when using it. Through toning and the chanting and singing of mantra we generate an internal vibration that allows us to go within. These vibrations have an effect on our physical body, especially areas where we hold tension and on our glandular and nervous systems as well as the cakras and our energy body.

Mantra

Learning and practicing sacred mantras is a very special thing to do and can be a powerful devotional and transformational tool. One of my teachers once said that, ‘chanting or singing a mantra is like sending a love song to yourself’. It is a direct pathway to expanding our consciousness and progressing on our spiritual path. As you journey through this workshop, you will also undergo some degree of transformational change.

Who is this course for?

Maybe you’ve learned a few Sanskrit mantas in the past but you are unsure about using your own voice either as a sound healing tool ,in your own personal practice or as a yoga or meditation teacher. Perhaps you’ve been to some kirtan sessions, fallen in love with certain mantras and would like to learn more or even try leading a kirtan. If any of the above apply to you, then this course could be just what you are looking for as the next step.
